Institut Villa Pierrefeu :: The Original Swiss Finishing School has developped over 50 years a know-how in International Business and Social Etiquette second to none.

Why Institut Villa Pierrefeu

With more than 50 years of experience, Institut Villa Pierrefeu is a traditional Finishing School of the type the world expects from Switzerland. Elegant, exclusive and charming, it will prepare you for a role in the business world and society , aiming to help you become more effective in multicultural environments and dealings.

We offer several Finishing programs:

  1. 1.School Year Program (September 25th 2011, January 15th 2012 or April 15th 2012)

School Year :: Dining Etiquette

  1. IVP Higher Certificate in Finishing course : One to three term program of French or English (including preparation for official language exams such as the DELF/DALF, Cambridge, TOEFL), International Etiquette, Protocol, “Savoir-vivre”, Table Service, Cooking, Floral Art & Table Decoration, Home Management. Age: 16 (+), average age: 20.

  2. The Finishing courses are given on the IVP purposely designed campus and during the school year, language classes and boarding are given at Surval Mont-Fleuri (5 minutes from IVP).

  1. 2.Winter Intensive Finishing Courses & Refresher Course for Alumni (January 15th, or 22nd to January 28th 2012)

Winter intensive: International dining manners

  1. Many alumni who attended IVP in the past have told us they would like to return to the school to update and refresh their knowledge. They are interested in experiencing the new courses IVP has developed over the past 10 years as well as the opportunity to network with our culturally diverse alumni. Other requests have come from women interested in attending short programs covering subjects such as European table manners and dining etiquette and/or an overview of international “savoir-vivre”. We are pleased that we are now able meet these demands by offering (in addition to our successful summer and school year programs), a modular winter program, where students may attend one, two or both weeks of classes:

  2. Week 1 (15.01 - 21.01.2012) European "Art of Dining”: Provides a thorough introduction to the European “Art of dining” traditions, evolution and present usage along with new trends, including practice tutorials and field trips.

  3. Week 2 (22.01 - 28.01.2012) A synopsis of International Customs and Etiquette plus New Trends in Food & Drinks: Focuses on international customs and etiquette including, gift giving, conversation pitfalls, international usage at the table, receiving VIP guests, plus traditions and new trends in tea, herbal teas, coffee and chocolate. This is particularly interesting for IVP Alumni who attended our courses before 2000 as these subjects were then not taught as extensively. It is also very useful for anyone wanting to understand multicultural diversity.

  4. For these courses, board and lodging is at the Hotel Victoria, a 4 star "Relais et Châteaux", 5 minutes from the school.

  5. 3.Summer Intensive International Etiquette & Protocol Courses (Starting: June 10th or July 1st 2012)
